The Question That Changed My Life

Last year, I lost my wife.

People ask me what changed the most afterward.

They think it's the loneliness.

It wasn't. It was the way I started looking at time.

I stopped measuring life in years. I started measuring it in ordinary moments. A cup of coffee together. A walk after dinner. A quiet Sunday afternoon. A random conversation before bed.

Those moments never felt important while they were happening. Until they were gone.

That's when I realized something I'll never forget: life isn't made up of the big moments. It's made up of thousands of ordinary ones that disappear before we know they're valuable.

And it made me ask myself a hard question. If time is the most valuable thing we have — why was I spending so much of mine on things that didn't really matter?

"That question changed my life. I started paying attention."

I started noticing the ordinary moments instead of waiting for the big ones — being fully present with the people I love, while I still have them.

These 101 questions are the ones I wish I'd asked myself sooner. I hope they do for you what that one question did for me.
